Kitchener’s Danielle Buttinger led the way for the Phoenix being named the field hockey league’s most valuable player.  She was a standout for the Phoenix leading the team to their fifth straight District 8 title (and her fourth personally).  She also helped the Phoenix to a silver medal at the 2013-14 OFSAA field hockey championship scoring 23 goals along the way.

Buttinger was joined by her younger sister Emily along with Phoenix teammates Hanna Askin, Brie Snider and veteran goalie Kellee Snider.

Cambridge’s Monsignor Doyle had three players represented on the all-star roster including Brittany Melo, Ariel Deutschmann and Alex Pothier.  The Mustangs had a successful season earning a berth into the District 8 final against Resurrection and qualifying for their second straight CWOSSA championship.

Mady McDonald and Kailyn Rodrigues represented the St. Mary’s Eagles on the squad while Cambridge’s Nicole Simard was the lone St. Benedict Saint named to the team.

The District 8 field hockey all-star squad is selected annually by the league’s head coaches.
