WATERLOO REGION (November 21, 2013) – Resurrection’s Sarah Schulz captured her second-straight District 8  MVP award as the league announced its senior and junior girls basketball all-star teams on Thursday.

Schulz led the Phoenix to a perfect 12-0 record in District 8 play including a 36-25 win over the St. Mary’s Eagles to secure Resurrection’s second straight D8 title. Schulz was the games top scorer registering 19 points in the championship win.  Her best game of the season came on Nov. 6 when she poured in 31 in a 48-30 win over Woodland CHS.

Schulz was just one of four Phoenix named to the District 8 senior girls all-star team.  Joining Schulz on the first team was teammates Celia McGlynn while Kelsey Caza and Ellen McGowan earned second team honours for the champion Phoenix.
