WATERLOO REGION (December 2, 2015) – It is a surprise to no one that Devon Hinsperger was going to be named the District 8 most valuable player after he led the Phoenix to the first ever District 8 football title. He and his teammates followed that accomplishment up with a CWOSSA championship win and most recently, won the OFSAA Metro Bowl against Etobicoke Collegiate on Tuesday.

Hinsperger is joined on the first team all-stars by his Resurrection teammates Justin Jelacic, Nick Snider and Scott Lane. The Phoenix also were represented by Kurtis Grey and Paul McLaughlin on the second team.

The finalists in District 8, St. David’s Celtics named Nathan Hehn, Mitch Lavigne and Dan Stirling to the first team list while their teammates Justin Henderson, Ebuka Moneme and Riley VanDeHogen were credited with second team honours.

Aiden Yearwood, Braydon Hill and Josh Cumber were also named to the first team representing the Saints. St. Benedict’s also had Alex Douglas, Blake Shaw and Nick Stainsby named to the second team.

St. Mary’s Gordon Lam and Noah Ross rounded out the District 8 first team all-stars while their teammates’ Nathan McLean, Dieng Chuol, Nolan Parsons and Edy Vega received a nod to the second team.

District 8 also recognizes 24 all-stars for the junior football season all listed below.
