BOYS HOCKEY: McFall named District 8 Most Valuable Player

WATERLOO REGION (March 29, 2016) – Sean McFall of St. Benedict’s was given the MVP nod for the District 8 boys’ hockey this season. The defenseman led his team to a D8 championship and a great run toward the CWOSSA Championship before being defeated.

Joining McFall on the first team all-stars is teammate right wing Ryan Frost. Three centers were also selected to this first team including grade 10 Noah Luis of Monsignor Doyle as well as grade 12’s Hayden Berger of St. David’s and Matt Courchesne of St. Mary’s. The loan goalie in the first team selections was Resurrection’s Alex Knispel.

St. David’s who had one of the league’s best regular season records had three players selected to the second team of all-stars; grade 12 center Mike McDonald, grade 11’s Matt Schouppe (defenseman) and Matthew Young (left wing).

Rounding off the team were 3 grade 11’s, defenseman Nathan Schell of St. Mary’s, center Thomas Onuska of Resurrection, and goaltender Ryan Hall of St. Benedict’s.
