D8 GOLF: Resurrection wins boys and girls team titles

WATERLOO REGION (October 5, 2018) – On a windy Thursday at Waterloo’s Grey Silo Golf Club, the Resurrection boys and girls swung themselves into two District 8 team titles.

Aiden Brady from Resurrection shot a 76 which was good enough for the low round of the day, and an individual gold medal. Brady’s teammate Hayden Scott captured a silver medal with a 79.

Adam Grein shot an 88 and Max Parrot shot a 94 to help Resurrection with the boys team title for the second year in a row.

St. David’s Ben Bauer captured the individual bronze medal shooting an 80.

The individual gold of the girls side went to St. David’s Quinn Doucette for the third year in a row with a 91.

Two shots back from Doucette was Championship newcomer Barbara Sychravova who captured the silver medal for Resurrection. Sychravova’s teammate Maddie McMillan won the bronze.

Sychravova and McMillan’s scores were good enough to capture the girls team title for Resurrection.

During the Boys CWOSSA Championships last week at Listowel Golf Club, St. Benedict’s Graem Costigan finishing with the silver medal and top open division player.

Costigan will now compete at the OFSAA Championships held at The Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Whitby October 10-11, 2018.
