WATERLOO REGION (November 30, 2021) – On Tuesday, District 8 announced the field hockey top individual honours would go to Resurrection’s Tiffany Binkle. 

The grade 11 midfielder helped lead the Phoenix to an undefeated season and reclaim the District 8 Championship title. Binkle scored six times in Resurrection’s four regular season games earning her the MVP nod. 

Four Resurrection forwards were also named to the all-star squad including grade 11 Abby White who scored four goals in four regular season games, grade 12 Paige Mosburger who scored three goals and grade 10 McKenna Campbell-Turkalj who scored once. 

Sarah Schnarr, a Grade 12 forward, also earned all-star honours scoring once in the regular season, and contributed when it mattered most, scoring both of Resurrection’s goals in a 2-1 win over St. Mary’s in the D8 championship. 

Returning to the field hockey all-star squad from the 2019 season is St. Mary’s grade 12 forward Gillian Rovers. Rovers scored five goals in six games including a goal in the D8 final. She is joined by her teammates, grade 12 midfielders Isabella Dubien and Caleigh Spencer. 

St. Mary’s grade 11 Emily Eiras rounds out the all-star selection for the Eagles. 

Also returning from the 2019 all-star honourees is grade 12 Jordyn Mundell from St. David’s. She is accompanied by teammate Lana Kauk who played midfield for the Celtics in the 2021 season.
