WATERLOO REGION (December 2, 2022) – On Friday, District 8 announced the all-stars for the Fall field hockey league which was headlined by Resurrection’s Tiffany Binkle who was named the league’s most valuable player for the second year in a row. 

Binkle, the grade 12 midfielder, helped her Resurrection squad to an undefeated District 8 season, scoring 12 goals in seven games. Teammate and fellow midfielder, grade 12, Jace Cormier was also named a league all-star with four goals.

Resurrection’s Abigail White was also named an league all-star for the second year in a row playing the sweeper position, while Skyler Morales was the lone grade 11 named as an all-star from the Phoenix squad. 

District 8 silver medalists are represented by grade 12 forward Jaden King-Kuntz, who scored two goals on the season. Teammate goalie Mya Brodrecht was also named a league all-star, recording two shutouts on the season. Grade 11 midfielder Gaby Rodrigues rounds out all-star selections for the Eagles. 

St. David’s named a pair of grade 12 forwards as all-stars; Carlene Johnson and Meghan Stewart. Stewart scored four goals for the Celics in the 2022 season while Johnson added a pair. 

Monsignor Doyle returned to the league for the first time since the 2017-2018 season, and are represented by grade 11 midfielder Molly Owen and grade 11 forward Julie Papalia.
