WATERLOO REGION (May 20, 2015) – On Tuesday the District 8 semi-finals set the table for Thursday’s Championship Night all taking place at St. David Catholic Secondary School.

In the girls rugby semi-final Kelly Stockall scored two tries on the way to Monsignor Doyle upsetting St. Mary’s 17-15. Doyle will advance to play Resurrection who earned a bye to the final as they completed the regular season with 6 wins and 0 losses.

The girls soccer semi-finals proved to be close matches as well. Undefeated Resurrection squeezed past St. Benedict’s 2-1 with goals from Celia McGlynn and Chelsea Sprout. They will advance to play St. Mary’s who had goals from Carley Randall and Cheyenne Sexton (2) to beat St. Benedict’s 3-2.

Resurrection’s boys squad downed St. Mary’s yesterday 4-2 thanks to goals from Nicholai Bacusmo (2), Antonio Hecimovic and Ryan Wiltshire. Resurrection will face Monsignor Doyle in the boys final as they topped St. Benedict’s 3-1 with goals from Tyler Martin and Jamie Wilkinson (2). Expect this to be an entertaining match as Resurrection’s only blemish on their undefeated record is a tie against Monsignor Doyle during the second week of the season.
