WATERLOO REGION (March 29, 2018) – On Thursday, District 8 announced St. David’s Celtic Zach Gladding has been given the nod as the District 8 boys hockey league MVP.
As a grade 11 forward, Gladding scored ten goals in his District 8 campaign, including four goals in game two of the championship series to lead his squad to its second straight championship.
Joining Gladding on the first team is teammate Ethan Bulovas who recorded two shutouts in District 8 and one in the A/AA CWOSSA Championships. St. David’s Braydon Crawford was named as a second team all-star.
Resurrection collected the silver medal in District 8 play and is represented on the first team by grade 12 forward Noah Trudeau and grade 11 defenceman Brad Vitello. Haydon Scott was named as a second team all-star for the Phoenix.
St. Mary’s Zach Bint was the lone St. Mary’s Eagle named to the first team for the second consecutive year, while his teammates’ Chris Adyls and Nathan Schell were listed with the second team nomination.
Grade 10 goaltender Vance Meyer from St. Benedict’s is the youngest first team all-star. The Saints are also represented by grade 10 forward Graem Costigan and grade 12 defenceman Luke Fanjoy.
