WATERLOO REGION (November 1, 2021) – It was a rush of red Resurrection Phoenix jerseys crossing the finish line at the District 8 cross country championships held at Bechtel Park in Waterloo on Friday.
As a team, Resurrection managed to sweep the entire girls team categories which included novice, junior, senior and overall titles. The Phoenix were also able to win the junior boys title which helped them edge past St. Benedict’s for the combined overall title. In all, Resurrection brough home six of a possible nine team awards.
St. Benedict’s qualified three boys teams into top three positions which earned them the overall boys title.
St. David’s had an impressive senior boys team placing four runners (Will Betik, Hayden Robins, Breadon Smith and Mitchell Hartman) in the top ten which earned the Celtics the senior boys title.
The novice boys event was captured by Woodland Christian who placed three runners (Benjamin McRae, Christopher Agbenyega and Isaiah Leeder) in the top six.

Junior Boys Individual Top Three:
