WATERLOO REGION (April 2, 2019) – On Tuesday, Resurrection’s Max Parrott was announced as the District 8 boys hockey league’s most valuable player.
The grade 12 goalie helped the Phoenix to an 8-0-1 regular season record, and their first District 8 Championship since the 1992-93 season.
Parrott, along with teammate and fellow first team all-star Blake Stephenson helped Resurrection to a CWOSSA silver medal. Stephenson, a grade 11 forward, scored nine goals during the District 8 season and added four goals in the CWOSSA tournament.
Resurrection’s second team all-stars Haydon Scott and Aiden Brady scored eight and ten goals respectively during the D8 season, while Brad Vitello scored two as a defenceman.
St. David’s collected the District 8 and CWOSSA double-A silver medals this winter led by first team all-star selections Zac Gladding who scored 11 goals in D8 action including two hat tricks and defenceman Matt Diebolt.
Brandan Bauer and Cam Hyjek were named as second team all-stars for the Celtics.
St. Benedict’s Adam Hoff scored five goals for the Saints, and was named as a first team all-star. Teammate Graem Costigan was named to the second team.
St. Mary’s is represented with first team all-star selection Nathan Bartlett.
