Student-athletes who are recognized as an Academic All-Star have participated in an inter-school team as well as achieve a minimum average of 85%.
Since these awards have started there has been an increase in the number of students being named Academic All-Stars each year. In 2014-15 D8 honored 639 student-athletes with the Academic All-Star awards. The increase of students honored has continued this year as 67 more students were awarded. Bringing the grand total of Academic All-Stars this year to 706 students.
In addition to the Academic All-Star awards are the Academic Elite All-Star awards. This award recognizes the top male and female student-athletes in each of the junior and senior categories for every District 8 school.
