St. Benedict’s takes overall D8 track & field title

Track-and-Field-logo-2-e1354980393294CAMBRIDGE, ON (May 16, 2014) – The St. Benedict’s Saints captured their first overall track & field title since the 2000-01 season on Thursday at the District 8 championship.

The Saints posted a combined overall score of 720 edging out Resurrection who scored 717 in the combined category.  The win ends Resurrection’s 11 year reign as combined champions and is St. Benedict’s fourth combined championship since D8 was founded in 1990-91.

Other team results include Resurrection claiming the midget and junior girls titles while St. Mary’s collected the senior girls title.  St. Mary’s would also win the midget boys title while St. Benedict took the junior boys title and small but mighty Woodland took the senior boys championship.

The overall boys title went to St. Benedict’s while Resurrection claimed the overall girls title.
