WATERLOO REGION (December 1, 2021) – In an exciting shortened District 8 boys volleyball campaign, Les Chevaliers from Père-René-de-Galinée led by league MVP Lazar Paroski had an unbelievably successful season. 

Lazar, a grade 12 right side attack, helped les Chevaliers to a District 8 Championship showdown against North Division winner Resurrection where they collected the silver medal, but would move onto the Single-A OFSAA qualifying event. 

Along with teammate Etrienne Krauss, a grade 11 setter, Père-René would win the OFSAA qualifier and move onto the OFSAA Championships where they swept their pool and eventually went on to win the provincial silver medal. 

District 8 gold medalists Resurrection are represented on the North division all-star squad by Gavin Deep and Braydon Van De Wynckel. These two helped Resurrection to many thrilling finishes, winning four matches in five set thrillers. 

South division winners Woodland Christian is represented by grade 12 middle Isaac Barnes. Barnes helped Woodland to a 4-1 regular season record in the division. 

Von Aguila, a grade 12 libero from St. Mary’s, and teammate Luka Barukcic, a grade 11 setter were named to the all-star team representing the Eagles.

A pair of grade 11’s helped St. David’s to a second seed in their division; left side Shariar Saeedi and setter Mitchell Young were named to the north division all-star team for the Celtics, while another grade 11, Rockway’s power Adam Snider was also named.

Rounding out the South division all-stars is Monsignor Doyle’s grade 12 middle Konrad Siedlac and St. Benedict’s Aiden Kennedy and Camilo Vasconcelos.
